28/12/2007:   Syria and Turkey to Boost Economic Ties
Minister of Economy and Trade Amer Lutfi Hosni on Monday discussed with Turkish Minister of State for Foreign Trade Korshad Tuzman in Ankara means of developing trade and economic ties between Syria and Turkey. Both sides affirmed the need to remove all obstacles that face the joint investments. On a different note, Syrian businessmen discussed with their Turkish counterpart in the Turkish city of Mersin mechanisms of enhancing cooperation and increasing trade volume between the two sides in preparation for establishing the Syrian- Turkish Partnership Council scheduled to be announced on Tuesday .

12/09/2007:   Syria and EU enhance bilateral relations
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Abdullah Dardari has stressed the importance of establishing the best relations between Syria and the EU in the interest of both sides. During his meeting with Head of a delegation of the Relations with the Orient in the EU Parliament Beatrice Patri on Tuesday, the two sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the cultural, economic, trade, technical, scientific and tourist fields and means of boosting them. Dardari briefed the EU delegation on the economic developments which Syria is witnessing, calling the EU businessmen to invest in Syria due to the facilities that Syria is offering. For her part, Patri expressed the EU desire to activate cooperation with Syria in all domains.
